Case Study #1 (names have been changed to protect privacy)
At 57, Linda had already outlived both of her parents, who had diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease. She came to me with high blood pressure, inflammation, cholesterol and blood sugar levels that were higher than she and her physician would like. We also suspected some food sensitivities were contributing to her problems.
After six months on her plan, she had lost 25 pounds, reduced her cholesterol and blood sugar to normal levels, and lowered her blood pressure. After a year her physician eliminated her high blood pressure medication entirely and her inflammation is at near-normal levels. She has maintained her weight loss and is now enjoying retirement in good health.
Case Study #2
Lucinda and Bob are a fun, energetic couple who enjoy a lot of social outings, travel and their grandchildren; but neither one of them was interested in cooking anymore. They both wanted to lose weight, reduce their inflammation and cholesterol, and guard against their family history of heart disease.
After just three months on their plan, which was created to accommodate their love of eating out, they had each lost close to 20 pounds. Lucinda’s cholesterol numbers were back in the normal range, and she had relief from her back pain. Bob’s inflammation and cholesterol numbers continue to improve, much to the pleasure of his cardiologist.
Because their plan was developed around their lifestyle, it was easy to implement. They feel so much better now they don’t even want to go back to their old habits.
