There are scientifically-proven strategies that really work, and I will teach you how to incorporate these strategies into your daily life. They are simple, practical and make you feel good.
The increase in diabetes in this country prompted me to create Control Your Blood Sugar Naturally. It is rare for me to see a new client whose doctor isn’t concerned with their blood sugar getting higher each year.

Control Your Blood Sugar Naturally is a 16-week, small-group program that meets for an hour (to an hour and a half) each week. Participants who live in Orange County come to my office, and those who aren’t close or who can’t attend the class live call in and participate through the speaker phone.
Everyone will have an individual weekly action plan tailored to their needs. You will get daily support and answers to your questions in our private Facebook group. I check in on the Facebook page every day, so you can always get the help you need.
In these 16 weeks, you will gradually transform your diet to one that promotes normal, healthy blood sugar levels.
Many people who work with me are able to reduce or stop their diabetes medications altogether in just 16 weeks. You and your doctor will make those decisions as your blood sugar control becomes better and better.
How to Control Your Blood Sugar Naturally is for you whether you have diabetes, pre-diabetes, a family history of diabetes, or any condition that would benefit from lower blood sugar. Who’s Denise?
I am a Board Certified Nutritionist who specializes in helping people with chronic disease feel better. I love food, and firmly believe that good, healing food should be delicious and easy to make.
When my father had a heart attack back in the early 1990s, it was a wake up call for my whole family. He recovered, but the dietary guidelines he was given left a lot to be desired both in tasty food and variety. It was hard to stick with and not especially effective, for either his cholesterol or blood sugar.
I knew there had to be a better way.
So when my daughter was old enough, I went to graduate school to learn how our bodies work, and what science had to say about nutrition and healing. What I learned was astonishing: we not only have scientific proof that the food we eat can contribute to our illness, we have proof it can dramatically impact our healing.
After finishing my Masters Degree in Human Nutrition, I passed my American College of Nutrition Board exam and started my practice. Now I get to spend my days helping people like you get back their health, their strength and their hope.

Q: Have you done this before?
Yes! I’ve worked with hundreds of people to improve their glucose control and reduce or eliminate their need for medication. Real people get real results when we work together to implement these strategies.
Q: What kind of food will I have to eat?
Delicious, simple foods that are available in every grocery store. This is the way I eat with my family, and the way people have eaten for centuries. Simple, delicious, real foods, and nothing you absolutely do not like.
Q: I can’t spend all day in the kitchen, will I have to make everything from scratch?
Absolutely not! I am a busy working mom, and this is the way I cook every day. You will learn how to get the right kind of help from the store, and which shortcuts help you save time without hurting your health. The food part is easy!
Q: The meeting time doesn’t really work for me.
This is worth making the time for in your schedule. Don’t put this off any longer, you can get healthier, and nothing is more important than good health. If you must miss a class time, we can get you caught up over the phone.
Q: Is this just a support group? I’m not a big fan of support groups.
This is NOT just a support group. Control Your Blood Sugar Naturally is a nutrition workshop with evidence-based actions that will help your body maintain healthy blood sugar levels. While everyone in the group is supportive of each other, this is an action-based program.
Q: Why a group? I don’t want to share personal information with a group of strangers.
You are free to share as little or as much as you like. The strategies for eating to promote healthy blood sugar levels are similar for most people, so meeting as a group makes long-term programs like this affordable. Research shows that group nutrition programs can be more effective than working alone.
Q: I am not on Facebook – do I have to use Facebook?
You do not have to use Facebook, but it is a fun way to share information, recipes and support each other. If you want to try, we will get you started. If not, you can get all of the materials you will need through email. Either way, you will get a lot out of this program.
Q: What if I start the program and don’t like it?
